Loppy is a simple social voting platform for creating instant online polls and collecting live feedback. Inspired by tools like Mentimeter, it provides an intuitive, privacy-focused solution for group decision making and audience engagement.
Loppy focuses on easy access for everyone. Anyone can create a poll in seconds, share it on any device, and see results update in real time without registration. The platform is built with Nuxt 3, Supabase, Redis, and Tailwind CSS to provide fast performance, a modern interface, and strong privacy.
Creating a poll is straightforward. Users type a question, add up to 10 answer options, and share the poll through a link, QR code, or Loppy Code. Participants can vote from any device, and all votes are collected anonymously. Results appear live as each person votes. Loppy prioritizes privacy by collecting no personal data and keeping all features completely free.
One key technical challenge was implementing real-time updates using Supabase Realtime Database and websockets so votes appear instantly for everyone. To handle high-traffic scenarios and keep response times low, I integrated Redis for efficient caching and to optimize repeated requests.
Maintaining data privacy and reliability across all devices was a top priority. I also focused on building anonymous, device-based voting logic and making sharing as seamless as possible while delivering a lightweight, responsive user experience.
Loppy highlights my ability to develop interactive web applications with real-time functionality and privacy at the core, while delivering a clean and intuitive user interface.
